Bagsy the widow seat

The New York Times are on a mission. To rediscover the romance of the plane window seat. They’ve also asked their good readers to submit their window seat snaps. Here’s a selection of our favourites…

Cancun, Mexico

Catalina Island

Northern Portugal

Southern England

Vieques, Puerto Rico

Tradesmen beware!

If you come to work at Anorak HQ, we’ll make sure you’re dressed for the occasion. Thanks to Dominic for fitting our new lights and modelling our new garden apron.

Messing about on the river

Anorakers, say hello to the dad behind the daughter behind Anorak AKA Ian Robertson. He’s a keen rower and here he is rowing his little socks off for the Poplar & District Rowing Club in the Thames Vet Head of the River Race. He’s in the back seat by the way.

Very serious rowing

And this is just the small one!

Oh dear. Iceland’s President Olafur Grimsson has issued a stark warning about Katla, a far bigger volcano in Iceland due an eruption. Speaking on BBC’s Newsnight, he said “It’s much bigger. What we have seen now is a small rehearsal of what would happen, I don’t say if, but when Katla will erupt”. To whet your appetites, here’s some magnificent pictures from of the current ‘small’ volcano. Don’t get too close.

Misplaced manhole covers

We just happened upon this site dedicated to the photographic documentation of… wait for it… manholes that have been put back the wrong way around! Lovely stuff.
