Just before Christmas we asked you to tell us your favourite hot choc spots for a chance to win a Kissing Stags flask and some Hope & Greenwood hot chocolate. Your entries were amazing – some made us chuckle while others brought a tear to our eyes. But these are the ones that came up trumps.

1. Sue Fisher: “I’d take my flask of hot chocolate everywhere through the chilly winter months. Boot of the car, under desk at work, touchline of pitch at son’s games, watching daughters on swings at park, I could go on….”

Thanks to Tien and Lilly who tumble-totted into Anorak HQ and kindly agreed to road test our new bean bags due to launch in late March. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Two very happy customers!!

Top Drawer Spring

Behold, photographs of stand Anorak at this year’s Top Drawer Spring. The first trade event of the season, the show also entailed a quite a few firsts for Anorak:

1. It was the first time we showed our new Spring/Summer product range (including a new coolbag & mini animal washbags)
2. It was the first time we had a dedicated wholesale catalogue (hot off the printer the day before)
3. It was the first time we took a stand 7 metres long! (and slightly less products to fill the space!?)
4. It was the first time we used wooden crates and trestles to fill said stand (no more heavy plinths to lug)
5. It was the first time we forked out for a data capture pen (money very well spent)
6. It was the first Anorak tradeshow of 2011 (a glimpse into the coming year for retail)
7. It was the first time Leno the van driver dropped off our wares (prior to a spot of Latin dancing in his local ballroom)

The good news is that the show was a resounding success, albeit a very hectic and slightly stressful one. And what’s more, the early signs are that Anorak’s new products are going to be very well received in 2011.

Apologies for the lack of blog activity Anorakers. We had a mega-busy build up to Christmas and unfortunately Messing About Outside has taken somewhat of a back seat of late. Our pre-Christmas activities included:

- Packing Christmas orders
- Manning the market
- Designing our spring/summer 2011 collection
- Moving our stock
- Building a new website (coming soon)

Somehow, in between all this Wintry mayhem, Anorak’s very own Laurie & Matt managed to turn their hands to a spot of chocolateering, opting to hand-make their friends and family some Christmas confectionery. Here’s some pictures of the choccies (before the Christmas munchers pounced!).

Rumour press show

Rumour PR, our lovely press girls, ramped up their press wooing efforts last week in the form of their first ever press show. Housed in the London Transport Museum, Mel and Ruth invited along their favourite press buddies for a sneak preview of new products from ourselves and their other esteemed clients. On show from Anorak were our new deckchairs, new beanbags and new mini kissing animals designs. The day was a rip roaring success and we’re pleased to say our products went down very well indeed.
