We love World of Kitch and all their glorious vintage finds. And now we love them even more, after spotting a few cameo appearances from none other than our kissing stags oilcloth. It’s always nice to see our wares being put to good use, but this is too groovy for words! Thanks World of Kitch, our stags are standing prouder than ever.

Team Anorak pitches

Last week, we were lucky enough to reach the regional heats of The Pitch 2010. Five budding business were picked from thousands of applicants to pitch their ideas to three very scary judges with the hope of reaching the grand final. These were Doug Richard (from Dragons Den), Julie Meyer (big time entrepreneur) and Helen Stevenson (Chief Marketing Officer at Yell). So, after a few rehearsals and a few deep breaths, Laurie and Stuart hit the stage. Here’s photos and the live Twitter feed from the day.
The judges loved our brand, loved our products and gave some great feedback. But alas, we didn’t quite win, coming second on the day. Nonetheless, it was an amazing experience and we made some brilliant contacts along the way. Plus, there’s also a wild card round where the public can vote for one more finalist (hint hint). More on that to follow.
Sailing in to join our fleet of picnic coolbags is this boaty beauty. Available now for £55 or £78 with a matching picnic blanket. Picnic spot ahoy!

Picking in the rain

Those of you familiar with our berry inspired poem (see below) from the Anorak catalogue will know just how mad about berry picking we are. Well, it look likes Ez from Creature Comforts is even madder about berry picking, opting to go hunter-gathering for blueberries last Saturday. In torrential rain. One word: RESPECT.
Big trunk, little trunk

After taking our prototypes to a few shows this year (and getting rave reviews!), we’ve decided to take the plunge and launch a range of top quality trunks. Ladies and Gents, we give you Tuck and Steamer!
Tuck boxes (our smaller trunk) were traditionally used for boarding school kids to store their eatables in and this re-fashioned classic would be perfect for storing toys, knitwear or crafts.
Steamer trunks (our bigger trunk) are most commonly used for extended periods away from home, such as boarding school, but would also be ideal for the storage of sports equipment, outdoor games, blankets and umbrellas.
We’re over the moon that Heal’s are now stocking our kissing rabbits range. And what’s more, they’ve taken this lovely picture of our products to use in their summer promotional material. Yippeee.

Time for some Anorak holiday snaps. Last weekend, Laurie & Matt darted off to sunny Hayling Island to the family caravan. Activities included a BBQ, sea swimming, a spot of badminton and a ferry trip to the Isle of Wight. Here’s the highlights…
